Query with submission.
Hi,
I just realised that participants would be able to update their app with newer feature after Oct 14th as there is no way hackathon moderators can track, which gives them benefit over other participants who don't update.
How is the moderation team planning to avoid it?

Hey, the judges will be basing their decision on the submission content which includes the video and description etc. This information cannot be changed after Oct 14.
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for clarifying, but videos submitted can be edited/updated on YouTube and Vimeo and viewer would not get to know that the video was updated with the newer clip. Video link remains the same after updating the video.
That's one flaw the judges can't identify. Please look into it.

Thanks for the note. We're aware that minor changes to submissions can sometimes be physically possible, and it's important everyone know that submissions are reviewed very closely, and submitters who make changes can be disqualified.

I think this can be easily tracked by judges since App updates on Stores will show latest update date. So any app updated after 14th should be considered in a different way at least.

This is a little misleading.
Why would anyone go live by the 14th if the deadline is the 28th and giving them another 14 days?
One more thing to consider isn't there a best improved app getting $10K. How are we to get this if we don't update? Is it just for who makes the best use of Kin?
I'm glad I know this as we were planning a major update to the .apk before the 28th when people are required to submit their final apps.

But it sounds like judges basically based their decision on the 14th and so it doesn't really matter because you can't update after that. Rest assured things will be fine :P

Just to clarify. Best Improved is a prize category for apps that were pre existing with users before the challenge.
